THE ANALYSIS OF SYNTACTIC ERRORS IN STUDENTS’ EXPOSITION WRITING OF CLASS X AT SMA YAPIP SUNGGUMINASA IN GOWA REGENCY

The research objectives are: (i) to describe phrase errors found in students’ expository writing of class X at SMA YAPIP Sungguminasa Gowa Regency; and (ii) sentence Regency. study used a qualitative descriptive design. Data collection techniques are read, take notes, interview teachers students. were analyzed by identifying, classifying, explaining, evaluating. results showed that include four types prepositional errors: verbal errors, nominal adjectival errors; seven types: sentences with no subject, subject predicate, illogical sentences, pleonasms, conjunctive disappearances, excessive conjunctions, unnecessary usage unquestioned words.
